40-Hour Training

Our 40-hour domestic violence training, originally scheduled for this month, has been postponed—but we’re excited to announce new dates for May/June!

Between Friends’ 40-hour Domestic Violence Training provides participants with insight into the domestic violence movement’s philosophical and political framework and gives a solid foundation for supporting individuals experiencing domestic violence. Participants will develop a comprehensive understanding of domestic violence and learn best practices to support victims and survivors safely and appropriately. The training is $255 for a single participant or $200 per participant for organizations sending more than one person.

This training fulfills the Illinois Domestic Violence Act (IDVA) 40-hour domestic violence training requirement. Completing 40 hours of domestic violence training is the first step toward becoming an Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional (ICDVP). Between Friends is an ICDVP-approved training and supervision site. For more information on becoming a Certified Domestic Violence Professional, visit www.ilcdvp.org.
