Last month, our A Night Out program visited the Light Up the Lake Festival at Navy Pier! Clients from our counseling and court advocacy programs, along with their children, enjoyed the magical interactive light displays with over 600,000 lights, ice skating, the ferris wheel and a journey through a Winter Wonderfest Forest, as well as dinner.
Clients shared that this event not only helped them not feel alone, but created some holiday magic for their children. One client said “the night was so special for me and my three-year-old. Without Between Friends help, attending an event like this wouldn’t have been possible” and another shared that “these events have been crucial in my healing process as a survivor”.
A Night Out is a program that enables families impacted by domestic violence to enjoy fun and safe group outings, accompanied by trained clinicians and volunteers. Our A Night Out program is generously supported by the NorthShore University HealthSystem’s Community Investment Fund.
