Friends, unfortunately the weather forecast is currently predicting rain during the time when we would be setting up luminaria and lighting our candles… which of course cannot get wet. With this in mind, and in order to give as much notice as possible to volunteers and attendees, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tonight’s Light Up The Lakefront event. Instead, please join us at 6:30pm CT tonight on October 6 for a brief virtual vigil on Zoom in which we will hear the stories of survivors and hold space to remember all those affected by domestic violence.
Please watch this space for news about other ways in which Between Friends will be marking Domestic Violence Awareness Month, in-person and online. We’re sorry we won’t be able to light candles on the beach with you tonight, but we appreciate your support so much!
